Awards season is here
The 2012 awards season kicks off with the Golden Globes on January 15th. Which diamond jewelry trends can we expect to see lighting up the red carpet this season?
The statement piece: chandelier earrings
With statement earrings on the agenda in every fashion capital for spring/summer, we can expect to see plenty of dramatic diamond chandelier earrings dangling from A-list earlobes this season.
The inspiration: the Jazz Age
Gatsby-esque glamor is set to reign on the red carpet this year. Flapper-inspired jewelry (think fringing details and Art Deco shapes such as the Neiman Marcus Forevermark collection ring pictured below) echoes the Twenties theme seen on many of this season’s runways.
The comeback: the necklace
Necklaces were for the most part conspicuous by their absence at the Emmys last year. With the return of the choker to the spring/summer runways, however, will we be seeing the statement necklace back on the red carpet this season? Nothing complements a strapless dress or plunge neckline better, after all.
The setting: yellow gold
The perfect partner for this season’s orange and yellow tones, could yellow gold be back for 2012? Award winning actress Michelle Williams paved the way at the 23rd Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala, wearing an assortment of Forevermark diamond bangles in both white and yellow gold settings.
